Frequently Asked Questions

If you experience a crash while using Artrage for Android, please contact us for assistance so that we can do some troubleshooting with you. When contacting us, please let us know:

  • What you were doing when the crash occured in as much detail as possible
  • Which version of Artrage for Android you were using ( the free or paid edition )
  • The version of Android you are using
  • The Android device you are using.

Because ArtRage mobile editions have capped canvas sizes, you may want to create larger images to print from. While it’s possible to export your ArtRage paintings as PNG image files, then resize them on your computer, this is not ideal as there will be some loss of quality.

Instead, you can record a script of your painting which can be played back on the full version of ArtRage for Windows or macOS. To record a script, make sure that ‘record script’ is enabled when creating a new painting file. Then, when you’re done painting, you can export the script file from your gallery, then play this file back in the desktop version at the size you prefer.

Your paintings are stored in the /ArtRagePaintings folder on your device. You can freely copy ArtRage painting files to and from this folder.

Yes! This is controlled by the policies and technology of each individual store, but we have no restrictions on you using the ArtRage iOS and Android apps across multiple devices.

Unfortunately the Google Play Store, Amazon Android Store, and GALAXY Apps are separate systems, and we have no way to transfer sales information.

The Google Play Store allows you to refund your purchase automatically within the first fifteen minutes, and we can refund purchases if you have a problem with your product, but we are unable to directly refund purchases made through GALAXY Apps or iTunes. You will need to contact the individual store support directly.

If you are having a specific issue with your app, please contact us first and we will try and help.

If when you launch ArtRage, you are asked to validate it everytime, or can only run it when connected to the internet, this is likely due to a problem with the google play store license for ArtRage. Try the following steps to correct the problem.

Uninstall ArtRage and reinstall. Make sure you are connected to wifi and launch ArtRage again to validate your license.

If this doesn’t work, save your current painting to prevent data loss, then close ArtRage completely. Clear ArtRage’s app data via the Android Application Manager in Settings.

For iOS.

To Import images for painting on iOS follow these steps:

  1. If you are currently painting tap the ArtRage logo button on the ArtRage toolbar and go to your Gallery using the option in the menu that appears.
  2. Tap the + button at the top right of the Gallery screen.
  3. Select one of the three Import options in the menu.

The ‘Import Files’ option opens a file location browser for you to import files from standard locations on your iPad or from cloud services you have installed such as Dropbox.

The ‘Import from Photo Library’ option allows you to import an image from your iPad Photos app.

The ‘Import a New Photo’ option allows you to take a new photo and import that.

When you have selected an item to import you will be asked to select where to put it in your Gallery. Select a folder and the file will be imported as a new Painting for you to select and paint on.

To Export or Share images on iOS follow these steps:

Access the Export option as follows:

  1. If the painting is currently open tap the ArtRage logo button in the ArtRage toolbar and select ‘Export Image’.
  2. If you are in the Gallery, tap the painting you want to export once, then tap the Export button at the bottom of the screen (the button next to the Open button).

The Export interface appears and allows you to select a type of file to export:

  1. If you want to export or share a normal image file other apps can understand, select the JPG or PNG type.
  2. If you want to export the full Painting file so that you can paint on it in another version of ArtRage, select the PTG type.
  3. If you have been recording a script and just want to export the script from the painting, select the Script type.

Once you have selected an export type, you will be asked to select a target for export using a standard iOS export picker. Only targets that understand the type of file you are exporting will be displayed. For example, if you export a PTG file only targets such as Mail or Dropbox will appear, as other apps don’t understand the contents of the file.

Note: Most types of sharing (Facebook, Twitter etc.) require a normal image type, use PNG or JPG for this purpose.

Select the target and the file will be exported.

For Android

To Import images on Android follow these steps:

  1. Open the main menu by tapping the ArtRage logo on the menu bar, then tapping ‘Gallery’ in the menu.
  2. Once in the Gallery, you can tap the Import Image button at the top right (looks like an image with a + at the top right corner).

After selecting your image, a new painting will be add to the Gallery with this image as the first layer.

To Export or Share images on Android follow these steps:

Access the Export option as follows:

  1. If the painting is currently open tap the ArtRage logo button on the menu bar and choose the ‘Share’ option.
  2. If you are in the Gallery, tap the painting you want to export once, then tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.

When you do this, you will see two options:

  1. ‘Export Image’ lets you export a JPG or PNG image to Android’s Pictures folder.
  2. ‘Share Painting’ allows you to share your painting file with other applications on your device.

When you select the Share option you will need to select a type of file to share:

  1. If you want to share a normal image file other apps can understand, select the JPG or PNG type.
  2. If you want to share the full Painting file so that you can paint on it in another version of ArtRage, select the ArtRage Painting type.
  3. If you have been recording a script and just want to share the script from the painting, select the Script type.

The current versions of ArtRage support the following systems and languages. Note that if your language is not supported, ArtRage will default to English, and ArtRage for Windows or macOS allows you to manually select an alternative language from the list of ones it supports:

Windows or macOS:

ArtRage 5 and ArtRage Lite both support:

Systems: Windows Vista or later, 32 and 64 bit. macOS 10.7 or later, 32 and 64 bit. Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and Japanese.

ArtRage for iOS:

ArtRage for iOS supports:

Systems: iOS 10 or later.
Hardware: ArtRage for iOS is a Universal app that supports both iPad and iPhone. Includes support for Apple Pencil and styluses from Wacom and Adonit.
Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and Japanese.

ArtRage for Android:

ArtRage for Android and ArtRage Oil Painter Free for Android both support:

Systems: Android 4.0 or later.
Hardware: Phone and Tablet devices with a screen 320dpi or greater. Includes support for Samsung S-Pen.
Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).

ArtRage for Windows or macOS:

Updates to your version (for example, updating ArtRage 4.0 to 4.5) are provided free of charge from our Member Area. Upgrades to new versions (for example upgrading ArtRage 4 to ArtRage 5) are given an upgrade discount to make the cost of the new version cheaper, this is also provided from our Member Area.

To download the latest version of your software our claim an upgrade discount please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have created a Member Area Account. Click here for more information on how to do this.
  2. Make sure you have Registered your ArtRage Serial Number. Click here for more information on how to do this.

Once you have followed those steps, check that your current product is listed on your Profile page then you can move on to the next step.

To Download Updates:

To update to the latest version of your product click the Download button next to its entry on your Profile Page. That will provide you with options such as downloading for Windows or macOS. Select the appropriate version and download the software to your computer.

The file you download is an installer file. Locate it on your computer and double click it then follow instructions to install it. Once you have done that, your old version of ArtRage will have been updated to the latest. Note that any custom content you made such as tool presets and stencils, and your saved paintings will not be harmed by this update process.

To Purchase an Upgrade:

To purchase an upgrade to a new version of ArtRage click the Upgrade button next to your current version on your Profile Page. This will assign you an upgrade coupon and a popup will appear with an Upgrade button that you can click to confirm that you wish to proceed. Click this and you will be taken to the online store with your discount coupon applied to the new product price.

When you complete your purchase the store will email you a new Serial Number and download links for the new product. Download the product to your computer and double click the installation file to install it.

If you see a note next to your product on the Profile Page indicating that your Coupon has ‘already been claimed’ please contact our Customer Support as this message usually indicates that an older coupon was claimed but not used before we adjusted our systems, and we should be able to assist.

ArtRage for iOS or Android:

Updates to the latest version of your App on iOS or Android are handled by the store you downloaded the app from. Return there and you should be able to download the latest version of the product.

Unfortunately we do not have access to the download systems of those stores so if you have problems downloading, or if it looks like you need to purchase the App again when you have already purchased it, please contact customer support for the store, they should be able to help you solve the problem.

ArtRage for Windows or macOS:

When you purchase ArtRage or ArtRage Lite for Windows or macOS you receive an installer with the software product and a range of sample resources such as tool presets, sticker sheet, stencils, and more.

The software you receive does not require a Subscription – once you have paid for it you can use it for as long as you want with no further payments. We provide a free download service via the ArtRage Member Area that lets you download the installer for your product again whenever you need it if you have Registered your Serial Number there.

Updates to your version (for example, updating ArtRage 4.0 to 4.5) are provided free of charge, these usually include fixes for issues that appeared after release, and sometimes small feature updates.

Upgrades to new versions (for example upgrading ArtRage 4 to ArtRage 5) are given an upgrade discount to make the cost of the new version cheaper. These upgrades come with major feature additions.

We allow you to install ArtRage on more than one computer for your own use, so if you have a laptop and a desktop machine you can install on both from the same license.

ArtRage for iOS or Android:

When you purchase ArtRage for iOS or Android you receive the application and sample resources such as tool presets, downloaded from the store you used to make the purchase.

The App does not require a subscription and does not contain any in-App purchases so all of the features are available for use without further purchase.

If you download the Free version of ArtRage for Android (‘ArtRage Oil Painter Free’) you receive a limited feature set only, but the product does not require a purchase to use the features it provides. It does contain a ‘Purchase’ button allowing you to purchase the full version of ArtRage for Android but it does not contain advertising from other companies.

Where you can find your ArtRage Serial Number depends on which version you are using:

ArtRage for iOS or Android:

The iOS and Android versions of ArtRage do not require a Serial Number so you should not need one.

ArtRage for Windows / macOS:

If you have ArtRage running on your computer you can locate your Serial Number using its option in the Help Menu. If you do not have ArtRage running, where you find your Serial depends on where you purchased it:

Purchased from us:

If you purchased ArtRage from our website you would have received your 25 digit Serial Number with your purchase confirmation email. If you cannot locate it, please contact us and let us know the email address or street address you used when you made the purchase so we can confirm your details and find your Serial.

Note that if you own ArtRage 2, the Serial Number is called a ‘Registration Key’ in your email and is a 20 digit code.

Received with a Wacom or other graphics tablet or hardware:

If you received your software as part of a bundle with a Wacom or other model graphics tablet or hardware your Serial Number should have been provided by the company who manufactured the tablet. Because we do not have access to their customer systems, you will need to contact Customer Support for the company who manufactured the hardware and they should be able to help.

Purchased on Steam:

If you purchased ArtRage on Steam you can locate your Serial Number using the ‘CD Key’ option for the software in your library. To do this: Launch the Steam Client, right-click the ArtRage app under your Steam Library and then select “View CD-Key”. If desired, you can copy this serial key and register it in our member area to gain download links for the non-steam version and upgrade discounts.

ArtRage 2 from Smith Micro:

If you purchased a boxed copy of ArtRage from Smith Micro your Serial Number should be in the box. Unfortunately we do not have access to serial number records for Smith Micro customers so if you are unable to locate it you will need to contact their Customer Support line.

Windows and macOS

After you complete your purchase of ArtRage from our online store, you should see download links displayed for Windows and OS X. Click the download link for your operating system to download the ArtRage installer. The online store also sends you an email with your serial number and download links for ArtRage.

If you no longer have the email from the online store, or their download link has expired, you can also download ArtRage from our Member Area once you’ve created a Member Area account and registered your ArtRage serial number.

Android and iOS

After purchasing the mobile version of ArtRage from the Google Play store or iOS App Store, you can download the app right away from that store.

If you are seeing crashes in the ArtRage Android apps, you may be able to fix this by following the steps below. Android apps can crash for many reasons, such as lack of memory or corrupted data. If your crash is caused by a bug in ArtRage, we will need to know what happened when you followed these steps, so that we can find and fix the problem.

Before doing any other troubleshooting:

  1. Check to see if there are any updates available for the app (we may have fixed the problem already!).
  2. Check how much memory is available on your device (both storage and memory usage when ArtRage is active). If you do not have enough memory left, your device will shut ArtRage down to save memory.

If ArtRage crashes randomly, while starting up, or while creating or working on paintings:

Android apps can crash for a lot of different reasons, including bugs or corrupted resources in the app, operating system bugs or conflicts, and lack of memory. You may be able to fix the problem working through these steps, but if you can’t, you will be able to narrow down the cause and help us troubleshoot more effectively.

  1. Go to Settings > Application Manager > ArtRage and delete the cache (this will delete any unsaved work, so save your painting first!)
  2. Go back and delete the Settings (this will delete the licence data and personal preferences, like your last used tools and canvas size, but will not affect your actual paintings).
  3. Reinstalling the app is also a quick way to reset everything (again, you will not lose your paintings).

If clearing out the app data doesn’t help:

  • Browse directly to the ‘/ArtRage’ folder on your device and delete or rename it (if you have any custom presets, you should rename the folder, or save them somewhere). This will clear out any corrupted resources. ArtRage will create a new folder when the app restarts.

If ArtRage only crashes when you go to the gallery:

This is usually caused by either a lack of memory or a corrupted painting. There will usually be a warning notice in the gallery itself if your gallery is too large. The fix is the same for both problems, so it doesn’t matter which one it is.

Browse directly to /ArtRagePaintings on your device and delete or rename it (this is where all your paintings are stored. You should save them somewhere or just rename the folder if you do not want to lose your files). ArtRage will create a new folder when the app restarts.

If you stop seeing any crashes, then you can copy some of your paintings back into the new /ArtRagePaintings folder to work on. If you start seeing crashes again, then either you have added too many paintings or one specific painting is causing the problem and needs to be taken back out again.

If ArtRage still crashes after doing everything else:

If you have followed all the steps above, then you probably can’t fix the problem yourself and will need to contact us.

Contact us directly via the support form. Tell us what device you are using, what operating system version, whether you have followed the steps on this page, and if you have submitted a crash report (we will need to know your device details to identify it).

If you get the option to submit a crash report after a crash, please send it. It gives us data that we can’t get otherwise. If you can spot any pattern (e.g. the crash always happens with a certain preset, painting, or action), please let us know.

Your ArtRage paintings on Android devices are not saved inside the app itself. They are located separately in the /ArtRagePaintings folder on your device, just like photos or documents.

This means that you can freely access this folder and copy files in and out of it. The ArtRage Gallery will scan this folder when the app starts up and load any PTG files inside it.

If you need to reset your ArtRage app data or cache in the Application Manager, this will not affect your paintings. The app data only affects your personal ‘set up’ inside the app (e.g. licence, last used canvas size, unsaved work), not any of the files you create in it.

Note: This is NOT the case for iOS apps, which require all data to be saved as part of the app itself. Deleting the data or app on the iPad or iPhone will also delete all the ArtRage paintings. If you need to move a large gallery off your iPad, please see this tutorial.

ArtRage for Android allows you to import images to create new paintings from other apps on your device (for example, the default Gallery and Photos apps, Dropbox, and other apps that support image export, like Autodesk Sketchbook).

Interacting with other apps is controlled by the Android operating system, not ArtRage. If you chose to set one of these options as the default option and now need to use one of the others, you can reset your default settings in the other application’s settings.

For example, if you have set ArtRage to always import from Dropbox, you would reset your Dropbox default settings (note: this will also reset any other apps that default to Dropbox). Simple go to your Application Manager > Dropbox and look for the ‘Default Settings’ section and reset it (you may also be able to go to Settings > Default Applications > Set as default > Dropbox).

Note: The exact names of the menus may vary on different devices, but the path will be the same.

The tools are not responding in ArtRage for iPad or Android

Can’t draw? If nothing happens when you draw on the canvas, it may seem like ArtRage is frozen or not working properly. However, the usual reason ArtRage is not responding to your finger is because the app is set to use a stylus only.

The easiest way to check if this is the problem is to try interacting with a menu. ArtRage will let you use the menus, but will not let you paint with a finger.

In ArtRage for Android, you can disable or enable by going to Menu > Settings > Stylus Only Mode.

In ArtRage for iPad, you can disable an active stylus by going to Menu > Preferences > Stylus Preferences.

The release history for the ArtRage for Android app

ArtRage for Android is a mobile version of our desktop edition. It runs on a wide range of Android devices, but was optimised for the GALAXY Note 4 and Note Edge, and is available as a free app from the GALAXY Gifts program on those devices. It is also available for sale in GALAXY Apps and the Google Play Store.

ArtRage for Android includes a full range of realistic painting tools, including oils, watercolours, glitter, and pencils. You can just pick them up and paint, or explore the deeper level of more advanced settings and presets. It is fun and easy to use for sketching and fully capable of creating finished artwork. All the familiar, convenient ArtRage features are there, with References, Tracing Images, easily navigated interface and colour samples. There’s even a touch rejection option, Stylus Only Mode,that allows you to interact with the menus, but preventing accidental strokes from your fingers on the canvas.

The ‘stroke gap’ resembles a lag when using ArtRage but is actually part of the realistic painting process

Many new ArtRage users notice what appears to be lag when they first use the app. While ArtRage can lag when performing demanding operations, the ‘stroke gap’ is a consistent, non-performance related phenomenon. It is the possible area of effect for your next movement.

It exists as an empty gap between the leading edge of a stroke, and your cursor, or the pressure point of the stylus. This gap will stay empty until you move or lift the stylus (or finger).

It is part of ArtRage’s real time stroke calculations; much like painting with a real brush, the stroke on a canvas is not finished, nor visible, until you move the brush on (if you stop and hold a brush in one spot, you won’t be able to see the stroke that has not yet been finished in that spot).

Size of the gap

The size is based on your current tool size, so the gap increases with larger brushes. The gap is literally the ‘largest possible stroke that you could be about to make’. The larger the selected tool, the larger the gap.

It is extremely visible on mobile devices, because they do not have a cursor to indicate brush size. The Outline cursor on the desktop will circle the entire stroke gap, making it clearer that it is part of the brush stroke, and not just a lag in the program. You can see in the images below that the ‘stroke gap’ actually extends in front of your cursor as well as behind. The gap measures the distance between the midpoint of the stroke (i.e. where you are placing pressure with a stylus) and the end of the current stroke.

Why it Happens

The gap is there because ArtRage is waiting to see what you’ll do next. The next part of the stroke will look very different if you lift the stylus away, double back, change pressure, run into and blend with other paint, or just continue exactly as you are. It would be much more confusing to project a stroke that changed after you kept going.

How can I avoid it? It bugs me.

You can’t ‘turn it off’, as it’s built into the way ArtRage works, but you can reduce the visibility of the gap by zooming out of your canvas view, decreasing the tool size, experimenting with different tools (some display it more clearly than others), or by turning on the Outline cursor in the desktop versions.

It tends not to be noticeable once you become familiar with ArtRage, as you learn what will happen when you make particular strokes.

How can I tell if I’m seeing ‘stroke gap’ or real lag?

Stroke Gaps are constant

A stroke gap will always be a constant size as you draw, and will scale relative to the tool size.

To estimate the size the ‘stroke gap’ should be, make a full pressure ‘dot’ on the canvas with your current tool. The ‘gap’ will be about half the width of this dot.

Note that settings such as Softness (eraser), Hardness (Airbrush), Paper Wetness and Bleed (Watercolor) will affect the apparent size of strokes. For example, in the image below, you can see that the eraser make very different marks at 0% and 100% Softness. The 0% Softness is the closest to the actual tool size.

Lag varies depending on what you do

Lag will cause the stroke to be further behind as you draw longer, faster and bigger strokes, or as your device runs out of memory for other reasons (e.g. multiple apps running, large canvas sizes, little free space). It will not be directly tied to the brush size (though larger brushes use more processing power). There are a few ways to reduce the memory usage.

If you see a very noticeable difference between drawing fast strokes and slow strokes, or between drawing the same stroke at different canvas sizes, that is lag.

Note: Some mobile devices cannot process fast strokes above a certain speed. This isn’t ArtRage lagging, but a built in limitation of the device.

Why don’t the mobile apps support canvas rotation?

The ArtRage Mobile apps (iOS, Android and Windows Touch) don’t support canvas rotation (the ability to just turn the canvas around using fingers), but we added it as an option to the iPad app in 2015.

This is because canvas rotation is memory intensive feature which isn’t absolutely necessary, as it is possible to rotate the entire device. While we may consider adding this feature in the future, we will only add it if it does not compromise app performance. Currently, most devices will struggle with this feature.

How can I rotate the canvas?

ArtRage for Android
The entire canvas and interface will rotate as you turn the device. To prevent this, you can turn on “Lock Interface Rotation” under Settings.

ArtRage for iPad
Update 2.1 added canvas rotation to the iPad app, as most current iPads can now handle the performance requirements, and the iPad Pro is too large to physically turn easily.

  • Default Setting: The interface will rotate as you turn the device, but the canvas will not.
  • Canvas Rotation Active: You can turn ‘Canvas Rotation’ on by going into the menu > Preferences. This will allow you to turn the canvas using two finger gestures while you work.
  • 15 Degree Increments: You can ‘lock’ the rotation angles to 15 degree increments in Preferences, or allow the canvas to turn freely.



ArtRage for iPhone
Neither the interface nor the canvas will rotate when you turn the device.

ArtRage Touch (Windows 8)
The interface will rotate as you turn the device, but the canvas will not. You can also use the Canvas Positioner to rotate the canvas. The Canvas Positioner is a floating ‘compass’ that allows you to turn, scale and move the canvas, similar to the desktop versions. Find it by going to Layers > menu button in the top right > Canvas Positioner.

If you cannot find ArtRage when searching Samsung Apps on your device, this is because you are using an out of date version of the App store.

To Fix This:

  1. Update Samsung Apps to GALAXY Apps
  2. Restart your device
  3. ArtRage should then appear in the store

Unable to Validate License after downloading from the Google Play Store

If you can’t run ArtRage for Android after purchasing from the Google Play Store, are asked to validate it everytime you open the app, or can only run it when connected to the internet, this is usually because ArtRage or the Play Store app is not properly storing or sending the purchase data. This is usually fairly easy to fix following the steps below. Note: Several things can cause this bug to occur or prevent your changes from fixing the problem, so you may have to try a few different things.

Before trying anything else, try just uninstalling the app and reinstalling it again from the Play Store. If this fails, move onto the troubleshooting steps below.

The steps we have found work most reliably are:

  1. Close ArtRage completely in your active processes
  2. Clear the ArtRage app data
  3. Clear the Play Store cache
  4. Open ArtRage and turn on Wifi to get licence data
  5. Close ArtRage completely in active processes and turn off Wifi
  6. Restart the device

We have found that clearing your ArtRage app data and then connecting to wifi to re-validate your app will usually allow you to use the app properly after that but may still give you the licence validation error on start up. Tap ‘retry’ and it should vanish and allow you to use ArtRage. If this happens, then it usually means that you missed one of the steps above, or something else is going on.

Further Troubleshooting

Find out how to do the individual steps, and other things you can try:

1. Check the Play Store Account

Are you logged in under the same account that you purchased the app under?

To check:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Touch the Menu icon to see which account you’re currently using.
  3. To change accounts, touch the dropdown arrow Selector and select a different account.


2. Check Wifi Connection

The Play Store needs an active internet connection to verify your purchase for the first time and every time that the error shows up. Once you have validated your licence, it may work until you restart your device.

To check if the licence validation error is completely fixed, you will need to turn off wifi and restart your device.

3. Clear ArtRage app data

While the problem usually lies in the Play Store app, there is a chance that the ArtRage app data is corrupted and not storing your purchase data properly. We are investigating this issue.

Deleting the app data is basically the same process as for the Play Store app, but note that you’ll lose any current unsaved work.

Go to:
> Settings
> Application Manager
> Choose the ‘All’ tab
> Find and open the ArtRage app
> tap ‘Clear > Data’.
> Reboot the device.

4. Clear Play Store App Data

You may need to clear out some of the existing incorrect data in the Play Store App before it notices that you’ve paid for ArtRage.

Make sure that your device is connected to the internet.

Clearing out your Play Store app data

  1. Check that the Play Store app is up to date. If not, install any updates.
  2. Clear the cache.
    • Go to:
      > Settings
      > Application Manager
      > Choose the ‘All’ tab
      > Find and open the Google Play Store app
      > Tap ‘Clear Cache’.

    • Restart Google Play
    • Reboot your device, and try running ArtRage again.


If it still doesn’t work Clear data as well (this will remove your saved Play Store settings)

  1. Go back into the app following the steps above, then tap ‘Clear > Data’.
  2. Restart Google Play
  3. Reboot your device, and try running ArtRage again.


5. Turn Google Backup Off

If you have the automatic backup enabled, it may be overwriting the licence data whenever you restart the device. Try disabling it temporarily to allow the changes to be saved.
  1. Go to your device settings
  2. Find the backup and reset options
  3. Disable ‘Back up my data’
  4. Restart the device (you may need to go online to validate the app one final time)


6. Reinstall ArtRage

Uninstalling and reinstalling ArtRage will clear out all the app data and give you a fresh install. This should also update the licence data.

Go to:
> Settings
> Application Manager
> Choose the ‘All’ tab
> Find and open the ArtRage app
> Uninstall
> Redownload ArtRage from the Play Store (You should not be asked to pay again)

7. Repurchase ArtRage for Android

If you still can’t get it to work, contact us with your order number for a refund. Purchasing ArtRage again gives the Play Store app a second chance at validating the app properly.

(Note: you can get a refund automatically through the Play Store within 15 minutes, if you’re still within that time).

Can I get a refund? I don’t want the app anymore.

The Google Play Store allows you to refund your purchase automatically within the first fifteen minutes, and we can refund purchases if you have a problem with your product (although not if you just got bored with the app), but we are unable to directly refund purchases made through GALAXY Apps or iTunes. You will need to contact the individual store support directly.

I purchased ArtRage for Android from one app store. Can I transfer it to the other?

Unfortunately, the Google Play Store and GALAXY Apps are completely separate, and we have no way to transfer sales information.

Can I run my purchase on devices that don’t support the app store I bought it from?

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. ArtRage app licences are tied to your app store account.

This will mostly only apply to users who purchased through GALAXY Apps (or received it free from GALAXY Gifts) and want to use ArtRage on a non-Samsung device.

Can I run my purchase on multiple devices that have the same app store account?

Yes! This is controlled by the policies and technology of each individual store, but we have no restrictions on you using the ArtRage iOS and Android apps across multiple devices.
